 Pro Choice 150 Years Ago

150 years ago in America most American citizens claimed they had a pro choice right to choose whether they wanted to own a black person as personal property or not. The vast majority of American's did not own black people themselves but they supported the pro choice "right" to choose to own them. This pro choice position was supported by the US Constitution and by the Supreme Court.

Today just about all Americans would call the pro choice "right" to choose to own black people "barbaric" and "uncivilized". Is it possible that 150 years from now, people will look back and call the pro choice right to choose to kill the unborn, "barbaric" and "uncivilized"?

 What Is "Pro Choice"?

It is my understanding that "pro choice" means "the right to choose to kill (or destroy, if you prefer) an unborn baby". Now what if we applied the "pro choice" idea to any group of people other than children in the womb -- for instance homeless people, illegal immigrants, the terminally ill, homosexuals, or republicans -- what would it be?

If we boldly claimed the right to choose to kill the members of one of those groups of people, what would our "pro choice" position be called? If we protested and held up signs demanding our right to choose to kill someone other than a womb dweller, what would people say about us? Wouldn't they say that we are using "hate speech"?

So why isn't the pro choice position on abortion called "hate speech" against the unborn?

 Paradox

What is the most innocent form of human life? The unborn child. What is the least respected form of human life? The unborn child.

Meanwhile guilty humanity flaunts its sins, its self-destructive behaviors, its pride, its perversions . . . while the innocent are killed by those who have taken an oath to heal.

 Medical Advancement

Prenatal medicine has really advanced. It is amazing what medical science can do in the womb. A doctor can help a child or kill a child. Isn't choice wonderful. When the other medical specialties catch up with prenatal medicine -- WE WILL ALL BE IN TROUBLE! If you are in your doctors office and you begin to feel gale force suction pulling on your body -- wake up and RUN! You are lucky. There is no room in the womb to run.

 Gone With The Whim

Many people live whim tossed lives. They choose to go whichever way the whim is blowing.

When the urge for cheapo sex hits them -- they're gone with the whim. When a craving for drugs or drink rises up -- gone with the whim. A desire to lie -- gone with the whim. A spirit of anger and revenge -- gone with the whim.

They say the whim velocity is too great and they just can't resist their gale force whims. But really, the whim chill factor has frozen their conscience. They have thrown caution to the whim. Frankly, my dear, they don't give a wham. They're gone with the whim.
