 Is Anything Morally Wrong Nowadays?

In our day it seems like it is perfectly alright for people to do anything they can think of. And if anyone says that what they are doing is morally wrong, that person is called "intolerant".

So here is a question for you. Should a person be allowed to legally marry his or her dog? Why or why not? If you speak out against it, are you being "intolerant"? Why or why not?

 Who's Next -- 2B "Non-Human"?

America has a history of declaring certain segments of its population to be "non-human". Then that segment of the population is legally persecuted and/or killed.

For hundreds of years the original inhabitants of the United States were considered "savages" and genocide was practiced against them. From the mid 1600's until 1865 Africans were considered to be "property" and they and their descendants were forcibly held in life-long servitude. Then, until the Civil Rights legislation of the 1960's, they were legally segregated and they were persecuted, terrorized and 4,000 people were lynched while the law looked the other way.

Beginning in 1973, unborn children were declared to be "non-human" by the Supreme Court and infanticide is currently being practiced against them. Millions and millions have legally been killed.

So who is next? Which group of people will be the next to be considered "non-humans" in America?

I pray this never happens, but this is where it appears to me our society is headed. As the baby boomers hit their final years and begin to overflow nursing homes, the cost is going to be far too much for our society to handle.

At some point the Supreme Court may declare (like they did in the Dred Scott case or in Roe vs. Wade) another group to be "non-human" -- those either of a certain age (say 80) or those dependent on nursing care. By this decision they could make forced euthanasia legal and the nursing homes could be emptied by aborting their residents, thus freeing up untold billions of dollars for our economy. If the savings were not enough they could also declare the terminally ill, the disabled, the mentally ill, the homeless, those in prison, and other "trouble makers" to be "non-human".

Some reading this are thinking, "That could never happen". Why not? If it happened several times in our history to several different groups of people, why can't it happen again? God have mercy on us!

 Christmas Already?

I was in Cool Springs Galleria Mall Saturday night (November 4th) and it is already decorated for Christmas and they were playing Christmas music over their public address system. The music and the decorations, however, never mentioned or pictured Christ -- odd thing, an early Christ-less Christmas. What will they think of next? Perhaps a January Fourth-of-July that doesn't mention or picture America would be clever.

Well, if the malls can promote a Christ-less Christmas on November 4th, I can promote a Christ-full Christmas on November 6th!

Happy Early Birthday LORD JESUS CHRIST SON OF THE LIVING GOD!!!!!!

Help us, live and obey Your message, Dear Jesus, and not just play religious and/or commercial games with the holiday named after You. Forgive us for ignoring You and for shoving You out of our personal lives and out of our society. Help us to passionately turn back to You. Amen.

 The Power Of Parental Example

The vast majority of men I work with at the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in Nashville had at least one parent who used drugs or abused alcohol. For many of the men, a parent or grand parent got them drunk when they were children.

None of us have to do it (we all have free choice) but we tend to grow up and behave like our parents. Parental Example is very powerful. If you have children (even if they don't live with you and even if they are already adults) your lifestyle example is having a great influence on them.

So quit thinking about your pleasure -- your wants, your selfish desires, and your so-called rights; and be man enough (or woman enough) to tackle your responsibility to live right daily. I know it is a fight, but you have the responsibility to wage that battle and win the victory over personal sin. If you are unwilling to fight for right and instead opt for the ease of sleaze, not only will you self-destruct, but you will be an agent of self-destruction for your children, your grand children, (and for all who know you).

I am so thankful that my parents have used their power of parental example to influence me toward a lifestyle of moral character. They are 78 and 77 and I have never heard either one of them cuss (or had anyone else say they did), never seen them drunk (or had anyone else say they did), never heard anyone even suggest that they had an affair or did anything sexually inappropriate. I have never heard of either of them lying, cheating, or stealing. I have seen them return change that was overpaid them several times.

When I was in high school my dad managed a radio station in Jackson, TN. When the Simon and Garfunkel song, "The Boxer", came out, as soon as he heard it, my dad pulled it off the air because it used an offensive word. Several of the announcers and employees were upset with him. They said: "We've got to play it. It is a hit. Everybody is playing it." He said: "We're not playing it." And they didn't.

My mom worked for Sears for many years. Many of the young employees would brag about "living together". My mother would tell them: "That was wrong when I was a child, and if it was wrong then, it is wrong today." She has never accepted the "living together" lifestyle and can still get heated about it.

My parents raised three boys. My brothers both have beautiful families with amazing children who have great character and morality. I have never heard of either of my brothers having an affair or doing anything sexually inappropriate. They are both extremely honest. Both are born again Christians who live upstanding lives. That is the power of parental example!

Don't you think it is time for you to be a good example for your kids?

Christians -- Let's Live What We Preach!

So a prominent pastor's (and leader of the National Association Of Evangelicals) secret life is exposed. Jesus said that what we do in secret will be brought to the light. I don't know the details of this and don't want to. The media is saying that he has admitted to buying meth and getting a massage from a male prostitute.

God have mercy on us that our church in America is so weak that we follow men who promote themselves and live contrary to basic Christian morality.
